If you love to build radios--or want to learn how--you are in the right place!

Featured Product:    TwinIC Radio Kit---OUT OF STOCK

Are you looking for an EDUCATIONAL project for your son or daughter, grandchild, girl or boy scout, or wayward kid in the neighborhood. Introducing the new ElmerRadio Twin IC radio kit! This fine sounding little gem is simple to build--you'll be amazed at the small handful of parts it takes to put this together. The two ICs are simple three-legged devices that are easy to solder in place--no multi-legged, frightening spider-like integrated circuits are used in this kit. In fact the two ICs look just like plastic transistors, but inside each is a multitude of transistors making it possible for this little radio to perform about as well as any of those six transistor wonders from the olden days (the 60's)...And it sounds great, too. The ElmerRadio Twin IC AM kit tunes the regular AM Broadcast Band from 550-1700 KHz. Designed to give about 200 hours from a single 9 volt battery (not included), you can take this radio just about anywhere. It weighs just a few ounces and its dimensions are 4.25 inches X 2.4 inches X 1.35 inches (not much bigger than your old beloved 6-transistor radio). The fidelity through an inexpensive pair of stereo headphones is quite impressive. There are still a few great music stations on the a AM band, lots of crazy talk shows and an abundance of sporting events. And for those youngsters you are helping there is Radio Disney (tm)--the perkiest radio station on the face of the earth. If you live in the city this radio will receive most of the local stations without an external antenna. If you live in the country or far away from any transmitters you can attach an external antenna. You will be amazed at what you'll hear--especially after sundown--with a simple antenna of 20 feet or more in length. Like all ElmerRadios your Twin IC radio comes with a nice blue plastic enclosure.
